A reboot of The Blair Witch Project is in the works.
Lionsgate and Blumhouse are teaming up and being given big budgets to reimagine classic horror films.
The original Blair Witch Project is a “found footage” horror, following three film students who vanish in 1994 after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary about a local myth, known as the Blair Witch.
It’s considered one of the most profitable films of all time, after originally being on a budget of $35,000 and grossing $248 million at the box office.
The film is also called “a sleeper hit” as it didn’t get immediate success when it was released but has since become a cult classic.
No details are known yet of the upcoming reboot or whether the original actors or writers will be involved.
