Finglas vet Michael John Winters is walking 40km barefoot for charity today.
MJ will be donating all proceeds to Finglas Suicide Prevention, The Peter McVerry Trust and St. Francis Hospice.
He took off earlier today, without socks or shoes, and has (at the time of writing) raised over €3,500.
He says he's " trying to raise much needed funds for three groups working hard in our community."
"The past few months have seen great changes in all communities."
However, as is the case for many charities, ordinary fundraising operations have been put on hold.
Big events can't be organised as long as social distancing rules apply.
"One such change is the cancellation of fund raising days for charities." MJ noted.
Also, it's his birthday - today!
MJ's Go Fund Me page is here.
