Power cuts in the week before Christmas could cost businesses up to 200 million euro, if a strike by the ESB goes ahead.
The head of the Dublin City Business Improvement District Richard Guiney says without power, many shops and restaurants could be forced to close.
Unions at ESB have announced plans to serve strike notice over a 1.6 billion euro pension deficit, if agreement is not reached by December 16th.
Richard Guiney says it's the busiest week of the year for many businesses, and he hopes that talks might avoid a strike.
