Manchester City beat Tottenham 6-0 today at the Etihad, and show that their still quite a gulf in class for the North London club to bridge.
City were 1-0 up inside sixty seconds. Hugo Lloris cleared the ball straight to Sergio Aguero whose shot was saved, but Jesus Navas curled the ball home.
A Sandro own goal and Sergio Aguero added further goals for the home side in the first half.
Spurs brought on Adebayor at half time to try and save the game, but things only went from bad to worse for the North London club.
Aguero and Negredo made it 5-0 just 10 minutes into the second half.
And while Tottenham went in search of an opener, it was City who rounded things off late on. Jesus Navas getting a second in stoppage time to make it 6-0, and move City up to 5th place.
That defeat moves Spurs down a place to 9th as their goal difference took a real hiding.
