Poor Melanie McCabe - we knew the 20 year old singer from Whitehall wasn’t through last week after meeting her at a make-up event in town but didn’t want to spoil it for you at the weekend. After being tipped as the favourite to win the XFactor, Nicole Scherzinger failed to put her through to the live shows. She performed Snow Patrol’s “Run” for Nicole and her guest judge Mary J.Blige in Antigua.
Melanie has now told 98FM she might quit singing for good after the disappointment. This was her fourth attempt at the show. The XFactor Facebook page was inundated with people saying Nicole made the wrong decision not putting Melanie through
Melanie was so upset after failing to get through, she couldn’t even speak to XFactor host Dermot O’Leary afterwards.
She told 98FM she has a place in All Hallows College studying Religion and Philosophy so will probably concentrate on that now.
Nicole Scherzinger has said she cried when she had to send Melanie McCabe from Whitehall home – eh you didn’t HAVE to send her home. Nicole picked Hannah Barrett, Abi Alton and Tamera Foster for her girls category on the live shows. Nicole said “I cried after I saw Melanie – I knew this was her fourth time on the show and I knew how badly she wanted it. Melanie in particular got to me”.
She says she had to pick Tamera as she believes she has the whole package to be a massive R’n’B star.
