Welsh scrum half Mike Philips has joined Racing Metro until the end of the season, with the option of an extension.
Philips was a free agent after being fired by Bayonne in October after he showed up to a team video session drunk.
He will link up with Irishman Johhny Sexton, who he partnered with during the Lions victorious tour of Australia.
The duo started the first and third tests down under, both of which were won by the tourists.
At Racing, Phillips will have France international scrum half Maxime Machenaud to compete for a starting berth.
