A man is in a critical condition after a car crash in Westmeath overnight.
The man in his 20s was seriously injured when his car hit a ditch near Castlepollard shortly after 3 o'clock this morning.
He was taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses and the road has been closed for a technical examination.
