A man in his mid 30's arrested by Gardaí in relation to a hit and run incident which occured in the city on Thursday has been released without charge.
A 34-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was knocked down near his home on Trinity Lane at the back of Clonliffe road in Drumcondra.
The victim was rushed to the Mater Hospital following the incident and is on life support.
The driver left the scene before the alarm was raised and a car, believed to have been involved, was later found burnt out in East Wall.
A man was arrested at midday on Thursday afternoon and was detained in Mountjoy Garda under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act 1984 but has now been released.
A file will now be prepared for the DPP.
