A quarter of the country's state funded hospitals and health agencies have admitted breaking rules on paying their top executives.

New figures show some senior staff in disability and maternity services are getting packages worth more than 200-thousand euro a year.

Salary top ups are also back in the spot light today, as it's emerged how much is generated from private sources like hospital shops or car parks.

Figures show the Master of the Rotunda and Master of the National Maternity Hospital are being paid separate, privately-funded allowances worth 20-thousand and 45-thousand euro respectively.
