A man is in a serious condition in hospital following an overnight shooting in Dublin.
The incident occurred at Hanlon's Corner on the North Circular Road at around half past two and the road remains closed this morning.
A man and three women are believed to have been injured when a gunman opened fire on a group of people standing on the street.
It's understood the target may have been the male victim.
He was brought to the Mater hospital where he remains in a serious condition while two women were taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown and the third was brought to St James' Hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
It's understood another man was driving the car from which the gunman opened fire.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the shooting to contact them.
Diversions are in place in the area and the road may be closed for some time.
