Rory McIlroy failed to build on his superb first round at the HSBC Champions Event in Shanghai. The former World number 1 finished up on 7 under par after a level par round of 72. McIlroy moved to 10 under thanks to 3 birdies on the front nine but the wheels came off on the back nine with three bogeys, including one on the last. However he's still in a share of the second place alongside Bubba Watson and Boo Weekley. Graeme McDowell fired a second consecutive round of 69 to leave him on 6 under but it's American Dustin Johnson who leads the way on 12 under.
