A man and a woman have been treated in hospital after being shot and injured in front of a 7 year old child.
The man was returning to his Tullamore home with his son, when a lone gunman opened fire.
The gunman fled the scene in a vehicle which was later found burned out 4 miles away in Durrow.
The man and woman were taken to the the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore, but their injuries aren't believed to be life threatening.
