A court has heard how Gardai found €3m worth of cocaine inside some wheelie bins when they stopped a jeep in Tallaght last year.
Abraham Shodiya of Carnlough Road, Cabra is accused of being involved in a €29m cocaine operation.
A surveillance led operation was launched by Gardai at the National Drugs Unit after they received information that a major consignment of cocaine was being brought into Dublin Port on June 18th 2012.
The drugs were hidden inside some wooden floor boards and taken to a warehouse at a business park in Ballycoolin.
Detectives spent the next few days staking out the warehouse and just over a week later, they saw a number of wheelie bins being loaded onto a trailer attached to a silver jeep.
The court heard how they followed it towards Tallaght where it pulled into a hotel.
The jeep was stopped and Gardai found bags of cocaine worth around €3m inside the bins.
Abraham Shodiya was arrested and it is the state’s case that he was a key player in the whole operation, worth just over €29m.
The 44-year-old denies having anything to do with it.
