Two thirds of people are staying within 10 kilometres of their home.
The figures from the CSO show the number of people remaining in their local area has decreased from earlier this month.
68% of people stayed within 10 kilometres of their houses nationally in the week ending on February 5th - however for the following week the percentage dropped to 66%.
Roscommon had the lowest number of people staying within the radius of their home with just 51% - compared with 54% earlier in February.
The county is followed by Mayo and Tipperary.
However, on the other end of the spectrum almost 80% of people in Dublin didn't leave a 10 kilometre radius of their home.
The number of people staying at home peaked on April 14th last year, with over 76% of people not leaving.
