A telecom contractor is creating 600 jobs in Dublin.
The positions will come on stream over the next 18 months.
Managing director is Damien Gallagher; "the areas are administration, fibre splicing, cabling and smart metering installations".
The announcement comes on the back of KN Circet securing key contracts with eir, Virgin Media, the ESB and others.
The company is also launching a training academy, which can facilitate up to 2,000 people a year.
Education Minister Joe McHugh will launch the state-of-the-art training academy in Rathcoole today.
KN Circet has spent 500,000 euro on the project.
Alongside traditional classrooms, the academy focuses on scenario-based training, such as a mock street, outdoor electrical poles, and an underground space.
People will receive training for various roles, from customer service to applying technical skills in difficult settings.
Local TD Eoin O Broin says today's news is a huge boost to the area;
"Its very good news both for Rathcoole and the wider Clondalkin area both in terms of the highly skilled jobs that will be created but also the fact that you'll have trainees coming in for their education, that's an additional boost for the local economy."
