Kobe Bryant has signed a two year extension to his contract with the LA Lakers believed to be worth $48.5 million.
The deal will almost certainly ensure that Bryant will finish his career with the Lakers.
Amazingly, Bryant received a lump sum of $24.3 million just three weeks ago. The All star guard decided to take a balloon payment at the end of his last contract.
It's not yet known if Bryant will do the same with his new deal.
Many are surprised at the magnitude of this deal as he is recovering from a serious achilles injury that has ruled him out for most of this season.
