24% Decrease In Number Of Jobs Being Advertised

13% of job postings now mention remote work, an increase of 10% since last year, according to jobs website Indeed.

Overall, job postings are down 24% since this time last year - with the food and beverage sector the hardest hit.

New research from Indeed shows how Ireland's labour market has fared one year on from the first confirmed case of Covid-19.

Job postings in February are 24% down on last year, however the jobs market has made a big improvement since June, when postings were down by 54%

Food and beverage jobs have been hit the hardest, down 62% since last year, while healthcare and manufacturing sectors are recruiting above pre-crisis levels.

Remote Work

The research found that 13% of job postings now mention remote work an increase of 10% since last year.

The highest prevalence of remote work is in arts & entertainment, tech, engineering and business roles.

Overall, Ireland’s jobs recovery is currently faring better than that of the UK or Spain, but is behind Poland, Italy, France Germany and the Netherlands.
