The Women’s Mini Marathon has been called off completely for this year because of the coronavirus crisis.
The 10km run through the streets of Dublin was due to take place on Sunday.
Weeks ago organisers decided to postpone the event until later in the year.
Today they announced the cancellation of the 2020 event, and say that all entries will be valid for 2021.
David O’Leary, General Manager of the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon, said;
"The health and safety of our participants is always our highest priority, and this tough decision was made with their wellbeing foremost in our minds."
He went on to say; "While we are very disappointed to make this decision, unfortunately it will not be possible to run our event in a safe manner this year."
