Young people aged 18-34 have started receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine in pharmacies nationwide.
Demand has been huge for the one shot vaccine since the Government announced it would be available from today.
600 people are on the waiting list for the jab at one pharmacy in Naas in Co Kildare, but they only received enough supplies for 50 people this week.
By the end of today half our adult population will have full vaccination.
This will continue to grow in the days and weeks ahead.
It's important that everyone continues to ensure they get their second dose. pic.twitter.com/HxdXFc8DcU— Stephen Donnelly (@DonnellyStephen) July 5, 2021
Restrictions
People who are fully vaccinated against Covid can meet in homes from today with no limit on numbers.
It's one of a number of restrictions being eased.
200 people are allowed at outdoor events, while outdoor venues with a capacity of over 5,000 can let 500 people in.
50 guests can attend wedding receptions.
