160,000 people visited Dublin today.
Footfall has jumped from 100-thousand on Monday, as we entered phase two of re-opening the economy.
Brown Thomas and Arnotts opened their doors to shoppers today, while 11am to 2pm was the busiest time in the city centre, according to the footfall trackers from Dublin Town and Dublin City Council.
50 per cent of shops and cafes are now open, and 1,400 people have used public toilets at Wolfe Tone Square and Stephen's Green.
To coincide with the partial reopening of the city, Dublin City Council together with DublinTown, An Garda Síochána and the National Transport Authority announced over the weekend their informative reopening campaign ‘Easing Like Sunday Mornings’, which focuses on educating the public around best practice when travelling in to the city centre. The aim of the campaign is to encourage the public to go slow on their approach to visiting town.
