Dublin city council has approved plans to clear a Retail Park in Dublin 12 and redevelop it into homes and offices.
1,102 rental apartments are planned for the Royal Liver Assurance site on the Old Naas Road, that is located beside the Luas red line.
It was the first of it's kind when it was developed in 1990.
The development will consist of nine buildings, starting at seven storeys high. An 18-storey office tower is also planned, along with a co-living block with 203 single bedrooms.
The shared living scheme includes communal kitchen and dining facilities, a cinema room and games room.
A creche, retail units, medical centre and cafe also form part of the project.
