Dublin Bay Oil Inquiry Rejected

The Environment Minister has rejected calls for a probe into the granting of a licence, that will allow for oil exploration in Dublin bay.

Dubs have reacted angrily to an application by Providence Resources to drill just 6 kilometres off Dalkey Island.

According to today’s Irish Times, Phil Hogan has declined the request of Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore to hold an oral hearing on the issue.

Serena Connor of action group Protect Our Coast says there are many concerns that need to addressed.
