Turbulent times ahead for Chelsea captain John Terry – after a rocky display at Anfield last night it now seems he’s to miss out on this summer’s European Championships. Reports in the UK claim Roy Hodgson will leave Terry out of his plans for Euro 2012 when he names his squad next week. He’s eager to avoid any conflict between the 31 year old and his fellow centre half Rio Ferdinand. Terry’s before the courts in July, charged with the racial abuse of Rio’s brother Anton. Terry denies the charge.
Chelsea will finish 6th this season – the 4-1 loss at Liverpool means they must win the Champions League final if they’re to ensure a return to Europe’s top table next season. The last time Chelsea finished that low was exactly ten years ago, they landed three titles and had four runner-up finishes over that decade since.
The Pool goals coming from a Michael Essien OG, Jordan Henderson, Daniel Agger and Johnjo Shelvey.
