Ernie Els is up to Number 15 in the latest World Rankings – it follows his surprise win at the Open Championship. Els started the day six shots off the lead of Adam Scott, the Aussie went into meltdown over the closing holes – four bogeys in his final four holes to gift a 4th Major to Els. Scott had been four ahead of the pack with four to go.
Despite his final day 75, Graeme McDowell was best of the Irish on 2 under overall – tied 5th. Tiger Woods’ tied 3rd finish lifts him to 2nd in the world, Rory McIlroy drops to third, Luke Donald is still top.
