A man is due in court this morning over a shooting in Blanchardstown that’s left a young man fighting for his life.

The victim – who’s 25 – was shot in the face at Whitestown Park on Wednesday evening.    Gardai found the man with a gunshot wound to the face at a house on Whitestown Avenue at around half past one in the afternoon, but it later emerged that the actual shooting had taken place elsewhere.  The victim was taken to Connolly Hospital where he’s still being treated.

A 31-year-old man was later arrested following a search of a house in the area.  He’s expected to be charged in connection with the shooting at a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court this morning.
