A three year old toddler is to become Ireland’s first ‘boy with a bionic ear’.
Little Calum Geary has been diagnosed with CNA, a condition that causes profound hearing problems…
His parents – Andrew, a Waterford based Garda, and his mum Helen, researched the condition and discovered a pioneering new treatment – involving a ‘bionic’ implant.
Only 140 children around the world have had the implant and Calum’s heading to Manchester at the end of the month to join them.
A fundraising appeal’s been launched at the Ulster Bank in Fermoy in Cork…
