If you were an extra in a film made in Dublin last year, you could spot yourself in cinemas this Friday. “Shadow Dancer” stars Clive Owen, Domhnaill Gleeson and Andrea Riseborough, last seen in Madonna’s “W.E.” playing the role of Wallis Simpson. In this film, she plays Colette McVeigh – an active member of the IRA in 1990’s Belfast who becomes an informant to MI5 to protect her young son.
Film director James Marsh won an Oscar for “Man on Wire” which documented a man walking a tightrope between the World Trade Centres.
This movie was shot all around Dublin so you could well see yourself, especially if you’re from Tallaght. James told 98FM “we shot in Donnybrook and in Tallaght and built 3 sets about 20 minutes out of the city. The exterior scenes are shot in Tallaght too with a lot of the locals as extras”.
