The developers behind Priory Hall will tell the High Court today how much money they have to fix fire safety concerns at the complex.
All 249 residents at the Donaghmede apartments – branded potential death traps – have been moved into temporary accomodation while repair works are carried out.
The City Council’s concerned that the men behind the development haven’t got the money to pay for the project.
In the hope of ensuring buildings follow construction and safety requirements the the Society of Chartered Surveyors are calling call for tougher laws to make sure projects meet compulsory standards.
The society says we should follow the example of the UK and make sure approved independent inspectors work with developers before, during and after construction and also thinks that penalites need to be increased for devopers who break the rules.
